Fresenius Medical Care wins prize for best Investor Relations work in Europe

September 27, 2007

Fresenius Medical Care, the world’s leading renal therapy company, was recognized in London for its exceptional Investor Relations efforts with the Thomson Extel Pan-European IR Excellence Award in the Medtech & Services category. Now in its second year, the prize was awarded by Thomson Extel Survey, a business segment of the Thomson Financial business information service, and Real IR magazine. The winners were determined by a survey conducted between March and May of 2007. Nearly 3,000 analysts, investors and other financial specialists were queried about the Investors Relations activities of listed European companies. The results were verified by financial auditing firm Deloitte.

“We are very pleased by the acknowledgement of our broad IR activities and thank our shareholders and analysts for their trust,” said Oliver Maier, Fresenius Medical Care Senior Vice President and Head of Investor Relations and Corporate Communications. “We are very proud that our efforts to provide open and transparent financial communications could be honored in this way. The prize motivates us to continue and further improve our successful IR strategy.”

Fresenius Medical Care’s Investor Relations department has been recognized several times this year for its outstanding work. The German business magazine “Capital” and the German Association for Financial Analysis and Asset Management singled out the Company for having the best Investor Relations among the companies on the Dax index. In a review by the American specialist publication “Institutional Investor” Fresenius Medical Care took top honors in the Healthcare category. The Annual Report also took first place in a competition held by “Manager-Magazin” and was awarded several prizes by the League of American Communications Professionals (LACP).
